Felting Workshop: “Vegetarian Sheepkin” Sitting Pad

Learn how to turn raw sheep wool into a stunning looking sitting pad through the magic of wet felting. In this workshop you will learn how to use Valais Blacknose, English Leicester and Gotland wool from my very own sheep to create a sitting pad that looks like a sheepskin. The little bum heater is fully washable. It’s a fun workshop, also suitable for beginners!

Felt is the oldest form of fabric known to humankind. It is a unique, non-woven textile made from animal fibres. Felt making is a long, physical process that requires patience and endurance. Through heat, humidity, friction and a change of alkanity wool fibres turn into a dense fabric. While still wet, felt is malleable and can be manipulated into all sorts of shapes that are stored in the fibres as they dry. https://twinfelt.com/portfolio/index
