Live at Mangaroa Farms

Live in Rural Serenity

Hilltop, our warm double glazed abode is a home tucked away at the base of the Waipango pine forest. Fully furnished with 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and beautiful views over farmland and native bush, this is a premium family home that is now available to it's next tenants.

In addition to food and forests, at Mangaroa Farms we’re also growing a village. And for the first time, we have a space in the village available for general residency / rent.

A single hill separates Mangaroa from the Greater Wellington population. So it’s a fast 7 minutes to the train, 12 minutes to Upper Hutt with most basic needs, or 30 minutes to Wellington central.

MANGAROA FARMS

A Living Laboratory for Farm Resilience & Forest Regeneration

Our Focus

  • Volunteer Days & Education Opportunities

Mangaroa Farms regularly hosts volunteer days and workshops to share the broad knowledge base of our team. Through workshops & events, we aim to increase local knowledge & connection to food systems, whilst planting native trees on mass, and promoting the application of regenerative agriculture.

  • Cultivating a Resilient Community Food Hub

Through building healthy soil & microbial systems, our market garden team produces a weekly array of fresh & delicious produce, grown with organic principles, available to order online or pickup at our Honesty fridge, in our efforts to increase localised food production.

  • Forest & River Conservation

The Mangaroa river is the lifeblood of our regeneration project, providing life to the forests, bird/aquatic life, and the surrounding farm area. Our farm backs on to 500+ acres of native old growth forest, neighboured by 700+ acres of pine which will be regenerated as a native forest over the next 2-5 years.

  • Regenerative Grazing & Soil Health

Working alongside nature and partnering with livestock, our team of pasture raised cows and sheep provide rich fertilizer for increasing the health & diversity of our largest underground livestock - the soil mycelium network. Raising our cattle happily in a stress-free environment means we are able to generate high-quality, nutrient dense kai for our local community.
