🌱 Native Tree Planting Day

Date: Saturday, 6 September

Time: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Location: 298 Whitemans Valley Road, Upper Hutt

Join us and Forest & Bird for a day of planting native trees and shrubs along the Mangaroa River and in our Ancestor Grove, supporting biodiversity and long-term restoration.

📍 Meeting Point

Meet at Woodcote Carpark (off 298 Whitemans Valley Rd) by 10:00 AM.

We’ll walk 5–10 mins to the planting site.

Mobility support available—let us know if needed.

🕒 Schedule

  • 10:00 AM – Arrive & walk to planting site

  • 10:30 AM – 2:00 PM – Planting session

  • 2:00 PM – Wrap-up & walk back

  • 2:15–3:00 PM – Light kai & hot drinks at the Whare Kai

Come for an hour or stay the whole day—every bit helps.

🍵 Food & Drink

Arrive well-fed. We’ll provide light snacks and hot drinks in the afternoon.

🧰 What to Bring

  • Water bottle

  • Warm layers & rain jacket

  • Sturdy shoes/boots

  • Gloves & spade (if you have them)

🌿 What to Expect

  • Flat planting site by the river and in the Grove

  • Work at your own pace
