EXPLORE THE MANGAROA
Farm Trail Loop
A Community Treasure
Opened in December 2022, the Trail is open to our local community as a continued gift from Mangaroa Farms and the Biome Trust.
Approximately 3.4KM, the trail cuts through our farm pastures, and winds along the Mangaroa River, past thousands of new native trees, and a tall Kahikatea tree estimated to be 150 - 300 years old.
Steep at parts, the trail peaks with breathtaking views over the valley and pastures - perfect for a sunset.

Regenerating our Waterways
Over the last few years, we have planted over 60,000 native plants and trees in this area of the farm. You can see many of the trees and plants growing as you walk the trail.
Riparian planting helps to create solid root structures along the banks of the river & streams, more effectively managing soil erosion and farmrunoff, whilst also encouraging wild biodiversity and boosting the health of water organisms in the river.

Trail Use Guidelines
Please leave all gates as you found them - in order to keep our livestock safe.
Safety first - you are passing through a working farm, where heavy machinery & livestock are present.
Keep all dogs on a leash - this is to protect our livestock which can be found often near the path.
Bicycles and horseriders are welcome - please give way to pedestrians.
Leave no trace - please help us to keep the environment clear of litter, and dispose of “doggy bags” in the bins at the start of the trail near the road.
Parking is not designated - please do not block driveways or create hazards by parking where you should not.
Respect privacy - stick to the path, and don’t walk, or park where you should not.
Contact welcome@mangaroa.org if you have any concerns.
