We’re Hiring: Farm Shop Manager

About the Role

Mangaroa Farms is looking for an enthusiastic, outgoing Farm Shop Manager to help lead our small but mighty farm shop. This role is ideal for someone passionate about organics, local food systems, and community connection. The Farm Manager plays a key role in ensuring the shop runs smoothly while supporting the wider mission of the Mangaroa Farms kaupapa.

You’ll work closely with teams from the shop, garden, marketing, and external suppliers, helping the shop connect with events, volunteer programs, and the broader Mangaroa community.

Key Responsibilities

You will work alongside other shop associates to:

  • Manage shop staff, including rostering and relief cover

  • Manage online orders and NZ Post fulfilment

  • Coordinate Market Garden orders and communications

  • Manage Fresh Direct orders

  • Oversee frozen and fresh meat management

  • Administer Mahi Exchange and staff allowance systems

  • Manage discount codes and shop promotions

  • Oversee shop inventory and stocktakes

  • Conduct shop verification and auditing processes

  • Manage shop budgets and financial tracking

  • Oversee daily cash-up and EFTPOS reconciliation for the Shop, Pick Your Own (PYO), Coffee Cart, and Open Farm Days

  • Coordinate event and monthly invoicing

What We’re Looking For

  • A proactive and positive attitude

  • Strong organisational and operational management skills

  • Minimum 4-5+ years of relevant retail experience

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Somebody who can work as part of a team

  • Passion for organics, quality, local food, and community-based initiatives

  • Confidence managing staff, systems, and inventory in a fast-paced environment

  • A genuine enthusiasm for contributing to the Mangaroa Farms brand and mission
